Zonta Club of Washington County honored six area women during their 33rd anniversary and Rose Day celebration Sunday at Lone Pine Country Club.
Rose Day is a yearly event to honor women who have demonstrated leadership and service in their fields. The women chosen are an example to others in the community.
They were honored by the Zonta Club, city of Washington, the county and state during a luncheon at the club.
The honorees were Suzanne Kelley for community service; Julie Kingsley for volunteerism; Judy Nemeth for government service; Siohban Visser for education; Karen Reese for non-profit service; and Mindy Zatta for business.
Zonta is an international service organization that works to advance the status of women worldwide.
