Wash High to graduate 97
Washington High School will honor 97 graduates at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the gymnasium.
Speaking at the ceremony will be valedictorian Mark Frazee and salutatorian Matthew Marasco.
Frazee is a son of Sandra Frazee of Washington and Mark Frazee of Pittsburgh. Among his awards is the Duquesne University Academic Scholarship, Pittsburgh Italian Scholarship, Italian-American Cultural and Heritage Society of Washington County Scholarship, WHS Student of the Month and Academic Excellence and Excellence in S.T.E.M. Courses from the Challenge Program. Frazee has been on the high honor roll in each grading period and is involved in the National Honor Society and student council. He was the facilitator for his school’s talent show. He plans to attend Duquesne University to study multi-platform journalism.
Marasco is a son of Duane and Jan Marasco of Washington. Among his awards are the Sons and Daughters of Italy Italian-American Heritage Scholarship, Clyde J. Tracanna/Rotary Club of Washington Educational and Vocational Scholarship, Washington Financial Charitable Scholarship, Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship and William G. Neal Funeral Home Scholarship. Marasco is involved in National Honor Society, student council, Bible club, swim team and track. He was also a senior class representative, a Washington School District School Board student representative and a WPIAL qualifier. Marasco plans to attend Grove City College to study business and industrial management.
