Whiskey Rebellion events planned
In addition to the Whiskey Rebellion Festival, to be held July 5-8 in Washington, two events are planned to highlight the historic movement.
Peters Township Public Library will welcome guest speaker Todd DePastino for the “Story of the Whiskey Rebellion” at 7 p.m. July 2. DePastino, founder and executive director of the Veterans Breakfast Club, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing veterans’ stories with the public, tells the story of the Whiskey Rebellion, a massive armed uprising and secessionist movement in the American West, which then included Pittsburgh. Register at ptlibrary.org to attend this free event or call 724-941-9430.
The 10th Annual Whiskey Rebellion Dinner will be held July 20 at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe, with the reception starting at 6 p.m. and dinner starting at 7. Rachel Gladden will be the first Whiskey Rebellion Dinner Honoree and Jason Dillle will portray David Bradford. Proceeds benefit the Bradford House Museum.
