Ward – 50 years
Doug and Marilyn Ward of Washington are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with trips to Myrtle Beach this week, Maui and Kauai, Hawaii, in May, and a family vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., in June.
Mr. and Mrs. Ward were married March 23, 1968, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Mark Scott officiating.
The couple has one son, Daniel V. Ward of Washington.
Mr. Ward, son of the late S. Bernard and Audrey P. Ward, is a graduate of Philadelphia University and is a retired auditor from the Defense Contract Audit Agency, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Ward, daughter of the late Lloyd and Winnie Knox, is a graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing and is a retired registered nurse from Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
Both are members of the Washington Alliance Church and volunteer at Washington Senior Citizens, where they help manage the card club, and she is president of the board and serves on the Advisory Board of the Washington Area on Aging.
