Carmichaels VFW Post 3491 will hold an election of new officers at 7 p.m. Tuesday. All members are asked to attend.

The Three Angels’ Chorale from Hartland College will give a sacred concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Washington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 901 N. Epiphany Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, will hold a “Back to Wonderland” senior prom from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Seniors age 60 and older are invited to bring a date or come stag for an evening of dancing and socialization. Anyone age 16 and older can attend as a date of a senior. NAACP Washington Branch will hold a Human Rights Award Banquet Friday at DoubleTree by Hilton, Meadow Lands. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, president NAACP Detroit Branch and NAACP national board member. Human Rights Award recipient is Gwendolyn Simmons, and the Community Service Award winner is Suzanne Kelley.
