A Career Extravaganza was recently held at McGuffey High School. Students had the opportunity to talk to representatives from schools, businesses, military and community service organizations about opportunities. During an outdoor carnival, students were able to access employment vehicles like a police car, computer decoder and excavator.

About 20 presenters were available to talk about various careers. Students from sixth through 12th grade listened to a presentation from Range Resources, MarkWest and Canada Midstream on what is going on in their backyards, and what careers are available in the gas and oil industry.

“We are so happy to have had this chance to offer our students a day full of possibilities for their future and present them with a variety of options going forward,” said Denise Leigh, high school business education teacher and co-coordinator of the Career Extravaganza.
