Martha Washington Garden Club celebrates recognitions
At the recent Martha Washington Garden Club meeting, several people were recognized for special contributions.
Dr. Jason Kilgore received the Silver Seal Award for advancing the work of the state’s garden clubs.

Kilgore led the club on a tour of the arboretum, with entertaining stories and interesting facts on many trees.
Grace Mitchell, a long-time member, received the Myrrel Overdorf Community Action Award for achievements in the community. Mitchell was recognized for planting the flower beds at her church and at the fair grounds, caring for the LeMoyne gardens for 40 years and for her 63-year membership in the grange.
The Martha Washington Garden Club received a first-place award for their 2017 flower show from the Garden Club Federation of PA.
Members celebrated the 92nd birthday of Debbie Knestrick, a member of the garden club for 22 years.
