Members of the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association will follow experienced birder Larry Helgerman on Sunday as he leads a birding exploration through “Important Bird Area 80” in the Buffalo Creek Watershed. Local birders will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the parking area of the historic S-Bridge at the intersection of Routes 40 and 221 in Buffalo Township. The location is just north of Taylorstown Exit 11 of Interstate 70.

This walking/driving tour will encompass riparian stream banks, open farm fields, mature forests and wetlands, so a variety of birds may be seen. The group will be on the lookout for spring migrants from the tropics, both those passing through and the birds that will nest here.

No experience is necessary, and the public is invited to attend. Participants are asked to dress for the weather with comfortable footwear. For questions, call 724-484-7537.
