There will be a Memorial Day program at 10 a.m. Monday in the Bud Allison Memorial Auditorium, to honor 28 men from the community. There will be special music provided by a bagpiper, a soloist and the Fort Cherry Junior/Senior High School band. Guest speaker will be retired Maj. Loretta Kendall. Refreshments will follow the program.

2 p.m. – Parade will begin at Post 816 and proceed to the Honor Roll located between the Hewitt Cemetery and Hewitt Presbyterian Church. Following the service, another program will be held at the Crucible/St. Mary’s Cemetery Honor Roll. Light snacks will be provided at Post 816 following the service.

American Legion Post 175
American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, 168 Park Ave. in Washington, will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m. Monday in the American Legion parking lot. The honor guard will then proceed to Washington Cemetery for a ceremony at 10:45, the Washington County Courthouse (11:05), Immaculate Conception Cemetery (11:25), Beth Israel Cemetery (11:45) and conclude at the Polish Cemetery (12:05 p.m.).
