Slots revenue dips slightly at Meadows, across state

Gross revenue from slot machine play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos last month declined 1.73 percent from October 2017, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Thursday.
Seven venues posted decreases from the previous year, including The Meadows Casino. The North Strabane Township facility experienced a drop of 2.24 percent, from $17,654,738.22 in revenue in October 2017 to $17,259,251.32.
Gross revenue statewide was $186,255,556.07 last month, a $2.7 million decrease from $189,527,493.24.
Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, posted a 3.60 percent gain ($22,021,532.84 from $21,257,150.33). Percentage-wise, that was the largest increase among the five casinos that registered increases from the previous October.
Conversely, Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, experienced the largest dropoff – 17.99 percent ($2,135,238.53 from $2,603,760.31).
Slots play last month resulted in $97,115,033 in tax revenue.
An average of 25,407 slot machines operated statewide in October, 534 fewer than a year earlier.
