Washington & Jefferson Student Theatre presents Henrik Ibsen’s acclaimed play “A Doll House” Nov. 15-17 in Olin Fine Arts Center, Washington. West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E. Main St., will offer a trip to Meadows Casino on Monday, Dec. 3. Depart at 10 a.m. from Bible Alliance Church parking lot on Mt. Pleasant Road (Turkeytown) and at 10:15 from the Belle Vernon Park-n-Ride (Route 70 exit, Route 201); leave the casino at 5 p.m. for return trip home. Cost of $25 per person includes driver tip, $20 in free play and $5 lunch. Cancellations will only be accepted if a replacement is found. Mail a check to the above address (include phone number). Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Annual General Membership Meeting and Holiday Luncheon will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Citizen’s Library (downstairs), 55 South College Street, Washington. Guest speaker will be Park Burroughs, writer for the Observer-Reporter newspapers since 1972 and chief editor from 1988 to 2012. The luncheon will begin at noon and include a sandwich ring, macaroni salad, fruit salad, Texas sheet cake and beverages. The meeting will follow at 1. Cost is $15 per person. RSVP by Dec. 5 to C. The St. Vincent de Paul sponsored food bank will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the First United Methodist Church, 215 Church St., Brownsville. New clients can register at this time. The next date is Dec. 19.

Canonsburg/Houston Ministerial Association’s 35th Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, in Fellowship Hall at the church located at 112 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Take-out meals will be available from 1 to 2. There is no charge for this complete Thanksgiving meal. This event is sponsored by the Greater Canonsburg-Houston Ministerial Association and the community.

The Greater Brownsville Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Light-Up Night will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23. A luminaria on both sides of the Mon will light the way for the annual procession throughout Hiller, Brownsville, West Brownsville and Blainsburg. The procession begins at 6 p.m. and ends around 7:45 at Hiller Fire Hall, 937 1st Street, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children and hand out free treats.

Best-selling author and Civil War historian Jim Douglas will be at the Bradford House Museum on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., signing and selling his Civil War books. The museum gift shop will feature the books of other local historians. The museum will be offering free tours, with docents in period attire in each room. The house will be decorated for the holidays, in the style of the 18th century.

The Washington Hospital Auxiliary will hold The Basket Raffle Extravaganza with more than 50 baskets on display Nov. 26-Dec. 7. Tickets are available for purchase in the upper lobby of The Washington Hospital between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Raffle tickets are eight for $5, with 50/50 tickets sold at $1 each. The grand drawing will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the lobby. Winners need not be present. All proceeds benefit Washington Health System.
