Trolley museum receives Capacity Building Grant
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has received a $25,000 capacity building grant from the Washington County Community Foundation. This grant will allow the Museum to engage the Carnegie Science Center to help further design the exhibit area for the planned Welcome & Education Center and further improve exhibits in the Trolley Display Building.
“We really appreciate the continued support from the Washington County Community Foundation,” Scott Becker, executive director, said. “This grant will help to develop STEAM-related exhibits as we plan for our new facilities.”
Work with the Carnegie Science Center will begin this fall. Construction of the Welcome & Education Center is part of the Museum’s On Track for the Future Capital Campaign. This campaign has raised $10 million toward an initial goal of $13.5 million.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last tour departs at 3:15) Saturday and Sunday, this fall through Dec. 16. Museum admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors (62+), $7 for children (ages 3-15), and 2 and under are free. For more information call 724-228-9256 or visit the website at www.patrolley.org.
