McCormick – 90 years
Leona McCormick of Washington will celebrate her 90th birthday with family and friends at the South Franklin Community Building from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. McCormick will celebrate with Etola “Toy” Pratt of Cleveland, Ohio, who is also celebrating her 90th birthday, and is the last living sibling of Leona’s husband, the late Harold McCormick.
Leona was born September 21, 1928, in Greene County to Ross and Icy Price. A graduate of Waynesburg High School, she married Harold McCormick on October 21, 1947. After raising her children, she attended Penn Commercial, earning a degree in general business.
She was employed by Allison’s Bakery, J.C. Penney Co. and Farm Credit Bureau.
Her children are Duane (Marilyn) McCormick of Washington, Ronald McCormick of Dallas Pike, W.Va., and Reca Panian of Washington. Her grandchildren are Diana McCosby, Kari McCormick, Heather McCormick and Joel Panian. She has four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McCormick is a member of Concord Presbyterian Church and the Lagonda Homemakers. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
