Zombies to invade Monessen
The Monessen/Rostraver Rotary Club’s 2nd Annual Zombie 5K Run/Walk Race will be held Oct. 20. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run/walk starts at 9 in Monessen City Park on Grand Boulevard.
Those who preregister before Sept. 29 will receive a Zombie 5K T-shirt. Participants can register as a runner/walker or as a zombie. As a zombie, you will be hidden throughout the race to surprise the runners/walkers in passing. Make-up will be included in this registration. Zombies are limited to the first 25 people.
All other participants can get minimal zombie makeup work done from Douglas Education Center students at a cost of $5 to $10, cash only. Registration is $30 per person. Registration also will be accepted the day of the event (no T-shirt). Students and children under age 14 can preregister at a discounted rate of $18 with a valid student ID at Valley 1st Community FCU in Monessen. Students and children must be registered by Sept. 29 to guarantee a T-shirt.
