Venus Hanlin of Waynesburg has earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Penn State University. She graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University in 2013 with a master of business degree in human resources and accounting. She is a 1988 Waynesburg Central High School graduate and is currently employed as a corrections officer at Greene County Prison. Hanlin plans to pursue her master’s degree in psychology to help rehabilitate habitual inmates. She volunteers her free time in several communities in three counties, helping people who have been incarcerated or have had drug and alcohol addictions and mental illnesses to attain employment and guide them in a positive new direction.
