(NO PIC) Marc Joseph Zmijowski, supervisor and funeral director of Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc. in Charleroi and Roscoe and funeral director for Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes, Inc. in Charleroi and Bentleyville, was one of 50 funeral directors nationwide selected to participate in the National Funeral Directors Association’s (NFDA) Meet the Mentors program. Meet the Mentors, which took place March 10-12 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta brought young funeral professionals together to learn from three of the country’s leading funeral directors and network with like-minded peers. Zmijowski is a third generation funeral director following in the footsteps of his late grandfather Leonard M. Pavlic and his mother JoAnn Pavlic. He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and president of Southwestern Funeral Directors Association. He is currently working toward receiving his CFSPalso known as Certified Funeral Service Practioner, the highest professional designation one can achieve in funeral service. To earn the distinction, a funeral professional must meet certification requirements related to funeral service in four well-rounded categories: Academic, Professional, Public Education and Service, and Career Review. Zmijowski is married to Kylie Wallach Zmijowski and the son of Joseph Zmijowski and JoAnn Pavlic.
