The Daughters of Grace Christian Women’s Choir will present “Beautiful Savior: Celebrating the Light and Love of Christ” at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, in the sanctuary of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. The 90-minute program will feature hymn arrangements and traditional and contemporary sacred choral anthems. The choir will also sing selections in Hebrew, Bemba (a Zambian language) and Latin. Accompanying the 35-voice choir will be pianist Carilyn Beabout, flutist Betsy Day, percussionist Bethany May and two trumpeters. Soloists include Karen Bogucki, Tammy Cross, Julia Richmond and Lenora Stanko. An offering will be received to benefit Rachel’s Gift, a nonprofit organization providing support to local families dealing with infant loss. Admission is free, and refreshments will follow the program. The church is handicapped accessible. For information, call Vickie Berdine at 724-825-9489.

The Garden Club of McKeesport and The Pittsburgh Rose Society will hold their Spring Pruning Demonstration at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Renziehausen Park Arboretum, 1400 Pinoak Drive, McKeesport. Bring pruners, work gloves and knee pads. Refreshments will be provided. The demonstration is free. In the event of rain or snow, the event will be moved to April 13; notice of postponement will be on the website, www.pghrosesociety.org and Facebook page.
