Zonta Club honors Kathy Costantino

Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging Inc. Washington County Supervisor Kathy Costantino will be honored by the Zonta Club of Washington at its 24th Annual Rose Day luncheon set for 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5 in the Doubletree Hotel in Washington. Zonta is an International Women’s Association that works to advance the status of women both locally and globally. Each May, the Zonta Club holds its annual Rose Day Celebration, honoring women from Washington County for outstanding achievement in health care, education, government, community service, nonprofit, business and fine arts. In addition, a non-traditional nursing student is awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Costantino, who has been employed by Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging Inc. nearly 30 years, is being recognized under the nonprofit category. In her current position as SWPA Area Agency on Aging county supervisor, Costantino oversees agency operations throughout Washington County. She facilitates the Washington County Advisory Council, comprised of leadership from all of the senior centers in the county. She has spearheaded the planning committee of the Washington County Senior Expo for the past 30 years. Costantino has served as a Eucharistic minister at her church, Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi, for the past 30 years and has held an advisory board position for Madonna Regional Catholic School for the past 12 years. She resides in Carroll Township with her husband Jim (Cack) and children Brendan and Emily.
