Beth Center STEM Team

The Bethlehem-Center High School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Team was recently awarded First Place at the Intermediate Unit I Regional Competition held at the Penn State Eberly Campus. The team’s project was called “Styrofill” and used recycled Styrofoam as an alternative to asphalt for filling potholes. Members of the team include Ian Nelson, Graham Sterling, Bryce Balsamo, Dylan Shashura and Bryer Sphar. Dawn Logan is their physics teacher and team sponsor. The team partnered with Summit Design and Engineering Services and Joseph Berrish, Coatings Department manager, for product testing and alternative uses and applications. The team will move on to the state competition to be held May 9 and 10 in Harrisburg.
