Entertainment anchor announced for South Fayette Newbury Market

SOUTH FAYETTE – Newbury Market in South Fayette Township has landed another tenant.
The township’s board of commissioners was informed by Newbury’s developers at its meeting Wednesday that Dallas-based Cinergy Entertainment Group Inc. has committed to placing a 90,000-square-foot cinema and entertainment center in Newbury Market, which is located off Route 50 and near the Bridgeville exit of Interstate 79.
Cinergy operates five other entertainment centers, with its most recent addition opening in Tulsa, Okla., last week. The Oklahoma facility is its first outside Texas, and its Newbury site will be its first center east of the Mississippi River.
Jared Imperatore, vice president of retail brokerage for commercial real estate company JLL, told commissioners Wednesday that Cinergy’s entertainment center will boast 11 movie screens, bowling, virtual reality gaming and restaurants.
“We’re excited about it,” Imperatore said. “With these tenants, we’re well-positioned to move forward.”
The newly-opened Cinergy entertainment center in Tulsa cost $8.5 million, according to a report in the Tulsa World. Imperatore said he also had a letter of intent from a “high-end steakhouse” to set up shop at Newbury. They will be joining a climbing wall facility, a Pet Palace pet boarding location, Top Golf and a recently launched Carvana site.
Carvana, an online national auto retailer, opened a Car Vending Machine there March 22, one of two in Pennsylvania. (The other is in Philadelphia.) It is rectangular and eight stories high, and with its blue glow, stands out to nighttime commuters along I-79.
A local Carvana customer may purchase a vehicle at www.carvana.com and get it at this location. The buyer will set up a date and time for pickup, then insert a hockey puck-sized coin, prompting a computer to locate the appropriate vehicle. A lift then brings it down to the customer.
