VITA will offer free tax assistance from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, through April 12, at The Bible Chapel in McMurray. Those wanting to have their taxes done must bring last year’s tax return, and I.D. for both yourself and your spouse, social security numbers and birth dates for yourself, your spouse and all dependents; all W-2 and 1099 tax documents (including Social Security 1099); 1095 health care statements and property tax receipts. Both spouses must sign joint returns. VITA will prepare federal, state, local taxes and property tax/rent rebate forms on a first come, first served basis; no appointments will be accepted.
