Slots revenue up slightly at Meadows, across state

Gross revenue from slot machine play increased at Pennsylvania casinos last month, compared with January 2018, the state Gaming Control Board reported this week. Revenue at the 12 gaming sites last month totaled $179,842,150.64. That was a $1.6 million – or 1.15 percent – increase from $177,795,127.32 the previous January.
The Meadows Casino, in North Strabane Township, experienced a 3.53 percent bump last month to $15,377,205.58 – more than $500,000 better than $14,853,503.40 a year earlier.
Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, posted a 10.92 percent gain, the second-largest among the casinos in January. Revenue was $23,381,256.22, a $2.3 million increase from $21,078,973.41 year over year. Those two local casinos were among only five statewide that showed increases.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, conversely experienced the largest decline – 20.18 percent. Revenue fell nearly $400,000 from January 2018, to $1,624,155.73 from $2,034,899.71)..
An average of 25,280 slot machines operated statewide in January, 528 fewer than a year earlier.
