Keystone Coon Hunters Club, located at 1720 Brush Run Road in Avella, will hold a Big Coon Contest on Saturday, Feb. 16. Sign up at 7 p.m. at the club. The hunt runs until midnight. Entry fee is $20 per hunter and $10 per non-hunter. There is a guaranteed payout of $100 for the heaviest coon and $75 for the lightest coon, with a $50 coon drawing. Concordia of the South Hills will hold an educational session and open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 24 and 25 at its campus located at 1300 Bower Hills Road in Mt. Lebanon, near St. Clair Hospital. Michael Falbo, director of finance for Concordia Lutheran Ministries of Pittsburgh, will present “Finding Value in Retirement Living” at 1 p.m. both Sunday and Monday followed by tours of model apartments. The Rostraver Sportsmens Association located at 539 Cedar Creek Road in Belle Vernon will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18. Membership applications are now being accepted. For information, call 724-984-6611.

A free healthy cooking class focusing on immune building recipes will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Community Room at Washington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 901 North Main Street. There will be free samples and recipes will be handed out to attendees.

West Newton Library’s 3rd Annual Super Gift Basket Raffle Event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 24 at the Turkeytown Firehall. The first drawing will be held at 2:30. Tickets are $10 and include a light lunch and a strip of general raffle tickets. There will also be upper tier raffles, games of chance and special raffles throughout the event. Raffling items include American Girl dolls, toys, designer hand bags, event tickets, lottery tree, gift certificates and more. Seating is limited. Tickets are on sale now at the library and at Gary’s Chuck Wagon Restaurant in West Newton. Tickets will also be sold at the door until they are gone.
