Women of Strength with a Radical Faith will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church located at 16 Ridge Avenue in Washington. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Christina Dawn Reed, pastor of Payne A.M.E. Church in Duquesne. Attendees are asked to wear something red.
Line dancing is offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Chartiers Township Community Center located at 2013 Community Center Drive in Houston. Learn a new dance or practice old ones. Dances include Latin, oldies, contemporary, country and soul. A special drop-in class will be held on Feb. 20, at a cost of $5. A six-week line dancing session begins Feb. 27 at a cost of $30. The Black Association of South Hills for Women (BASH) will hold its scholarship fundraiser luncheon on Saturday, March 23, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Meadowlands located at 340 Racetrack Road in Washington. This year’s theme is “Everything Old is New Again.” Tickets are $40 per person, available from a member or online at www.bashforwomen.com. Scholarships are awarded to black high school seniors who want to pursue a post-secondary education.
