Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club Students of the Month – December
Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club named Joelle Pahanish and Jordan Hess its December Students of the Month. Joelle, the daughter of Tammy and Dave Thistlethwaite of Jefferson, is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, where she maintains a 4.1 GPA. She is a member of the cheerleading squad and a baton twirler for the JM Rocket Band. Her awards and recognitions range from Junior Miss US Personality Pageants, National Dance Competitions, Tri-State Miss Citrus, Miss American Co-ed Pre-teen of PA, PA Cinderella Teen, citations from Greene County commissioners and Spanish 2 recognition. She has volunteered for Meals on Wheels, The Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Paws for a Cure, Greene County Animal Hospital and Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Joelle plans to attend Waynesburg University to major in English. She would like to be a flight attendant. Jordan, the son of Eva Zorich and Russ Hess of Waynesburg, is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where he maintains a 3.5 GPA. He is member of Art Club, JM Rocket Band, concert band, Leo Club, Upward Bound and county band. During his band banquet, he was awarded “Person with the Most Hidden Talent,” and he won an award during Upward Bound for “Most Musically Talented Student.” He has helped his community through programs such as the backpacking program, playing for Veterans Day and Memorial Day services, washing cars and serving meals with the band at the fire hall. Jordan plans to attend Edinboro University or the School of Visual Arts to major in animation.
