A community dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington. The menu includes creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or fruit, dessert and beverage. WOMEN of Southwestern PA’s 12th annual Symphony of Food will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Bella Sera Event Venue, Canonsburg. Doors open at 6 p.m. Participating restaurants include Giant Eagle Market District, Toscana Brick Oven, La Tavola Italiana, Au “Grottens” Café and Catering, Mediterra Bakehouse and Signature Desserts. Tickets are $100 and must be purchased in advance online at www.womenofswpa.org or by email at womenswpatickets@gmail.com. WOMEN of Southwestern PA uses the funds to make grants to local women’s and children’s organizations. Last year’s fundraiser permitted WOMEN of Southwestern PA to donate over $50,000. With the proceeds of this Symphony of Food, they will have donated $577,952 to the community.

The monthly meeting of the South Hills Coin club will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park. This month’s program will be on silver dollars. A 50/50 will be held and children’s prizes will be awarded. Applications are now being accepted for membership. For information, call 724-984-6611.
