Blood, platelet donors needed

The American Red Cross is in urgent need of blood and platelets and encourages people to help meet the urgent need by resolving to give blood this January – National Blood Donor Month. Those who donate by Jan. 6 will receive a long-sleeved Red Cross t-shirt, while supplies last. Upcoming donation opportunities during the month of January include:
Greene County – Greene County Vo-Tech in Waynesburg (60 Zimmerman Drive), 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8; Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department (1483 Jefferson Road), 2:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10; Carmichaels Fire Hall (Route 21), 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Washington County – Holiday Inn Express in Canonsburg (4000 Horizon Vue Drive), 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14.
