The Fort Cherry School District Helping Hands Food Pantry received two separate donations in December. Bob and Carrie Amic, owners of Body Systems Fitness Gym in McDonald, sponsored a 5K and auction, which generated $6,000 for the school pantry. Pictured assisting with the pantry are, from left: students Mark Walls, Crystal Fulmer, Sarah Robertson, Georgianna Horvath and Brandon Depaoli. MarkWest donated 20 hams to the school pantry. Brianne Eiler, interim principal at Fort Cherry Elementary Center, is pictured receiving the donation from Kristy Budavich, local government affairs representative for MarkWest. The pantry at Fort Cherry currently provides food and personal items to over 130 children in the district. To be eligible for assistance from the pantry, children or siblings at Fort Cherry must qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program.
