The stars are out for St. Clair Hospital – all five of them.
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced Thursday it has designated St. Clair a five-star quality facility. That is the highest rating possible, and the Mt. Lebanon hospital is the only one in Western Pennsylvania to be so awarded.
These ratings are part of a CMS refresh of its Hospital Compare website. Since 2016, the organization has published ratings of more than 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals. The intent is to help patients select a provider based on performance in areas that include quality, patient satisfaction and patient safety.
Diane Puccetti, vice president and chief nursing officer at St. Clair, said in a statement: “St. Clair is very pleased to be recognized with a five-star rating. It places St. Clair in the top 6.4 percent of hospitals in the United States.”
