Ringgold announces kindergarten, first grade registration

The Ringgold School District will hold registration for children entering kindergarten, as well as for children entering first grade who are not currently enrolled in the district.
To register, parents should bring their child to the school that he or she will be attending at the appropriate time:
- Tuesday, March 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. at Ringgold Elementary North
- Thursday, March 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. at Ringgold Elementary South
Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2019. Children entering first grade must be 6 years of age before Sept. 1, 2019. Parents should not register children for the first grade if they are already attending kindergarten in the Ringgold School District
A parent should bring the following documentation with them to registration: Birth certificate, two (2) items of proof of residency (utility bill, rental agreement, mortgage statement, tax bill, etc.), immunization records, four (4) doses of Diptheria Tetanus Pertussis (DPT or DT) one being on or after the fourth birthday, four (4) doses of Polio (OPV or IPV) one being on or after the fourth birthday, two (2) doses of Measles (MMR), three (3) doses of Hepatitis B, two (2) doses of Varicella (chicken pox vaccine) or documentation of the history of having the disease.
In the case of a two-hour delay, registration will only occur in the afternoon.
