Popeck – 100 years
Mary (Bober) Popeck of Canonsburg will celebrate her 100th birthday with a blessing at Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church on March 17. The celebration will continue on March 20 with friends at Canonsburg Senior Center, and at a party with family at the Ramada Inn on March 23.
Mrs. Popeck was born March 20, 1919, in Chartiers Township.
She married the late George E. Popeck on May 26, 1946.
She has three daughters: Carolyn, Phyllis, Adela (Don) and Natalie (Harold), and eight grandchildren, including: Michael, Jason, Adam, Matthew, Rebecca, Mark Alan, Evan and Chantel. She also has three great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, Mrs. Popeck enjoys playing bingo at Canonsburg Senior Center and making pierogi at the church. She was an active bowler until age 96.
