Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will offer the preschool program “Van Gogh’s Sunflowers” at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Community Recreation Center, for ages 3-5. Learn about Vincent Van Gogh, creating sunflower art and plant sunflower seeds. Fee is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. The St. Vincent de Paul sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at the First United Methodist Church, 215 Church St., Brownsville. Food pick up is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. New clients can register at this time.

Washington Hospital Auxiliary will hold a Hockman Candy Sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, March 20 and 21, in the Community Room. Choose from a selection of Easter candy, fudge, pretzels, gourmet popcorn and more. Samples will be provided. All proceeds benefit Washington Hospital Auxiliary.

Tri County Borough Association will meet on Thursday, March 21, at California Hill Men’s Club, 150 California Road. A meal will be served promptly at 7 p.m. with a business meeting to follow.

Blueprints will hold a Community Champions event with Rotarians Jay Hammers, Sheila Stewart and Barb Wise at 9:15 a.m. March 21 at the Waynesburg Senior Community Center. The event is in honor of the 2019 March for Meals Community Champions Week. Across the country that week, Meals on Wheels/Home Delivered Meals programs have enlisted elected officials, local celebrities and other prominent figures to deliver meals, speak out for seniors and raise awareness for the power of Home Delivered Meals. The Greene County Department of Recreation is holding two Easter craft classes March 31, which will include an Easter Bunny painting class for children and an Easter wreath/lighted glass block painting class for adults. Casey Clark, of Off the Wall Arts, will lead the children’s class for ages 5 and up, which will be held in the 4-H building upstairs at 2 p.m. The cost of the class is $25, which includes all painting supplies and a special treat. Children will be shown step-by-step how to create their very own Easter masterpiece. The adult Easter craft class will be held at 3 p.m.in the downstairs of the 4-H building. It costs $35, and all supplies for the Easter creation are included. Ashlee Grandstrand will instruct participants on their choice of either an Easter wreath or a lighted Easter glass block.
