A craft and vendor show will be held at Frank Sarris Library in Canonsburg from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to help support medical treatment for 3-year-old Lily Ayres, who was born with a congenital heart defect and has been on a transplant list waiting for a new heart since July 2017. The vendor show, named Lily’s Library Aides, will be held the second Saturday of each month.
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens’ Spring Flower Show: Gardens of the Rainbow opens Saturday, March 23. Adorned with prisms, topiaries and interactive experiences for all ages, Phipps’ Spring Flower Show runs through April 21 and features tens of thousands of spring blooms in vibrant floral hues. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. Admission is $17.95 for adults, $16.95 for seniors and students, and $11.95 for children ages 2-18. Concordia of the South Hills will hold an Education Session and Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday, March 24 and 25, at its campus located at 1300 Bower Hill Road in Mt. Lebanon, near St. Clair Hospital. The presentation “Smart Questions to Ask When Considering Retirement Living” will be presented at 1 on both days followed by tours of model apartments. Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes inaugural Volunteer Fair & Blood Drive will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Community Room at Beinhauer Family Services, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray.Connect with organizations, hospices and others to find volunteering opportunities in the senior community then stop by the Vitalant Bloodmobile to donate after the fair. Seats are available for the “brown bag” bus tour sponsored by California Area Historical Society to Sugarcreek, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 7. Participants will receive a gift at each stop on this “Traveling the Amish Trail” excursion. Sierra Club Pennsylvania will sponsor a clean energy hike from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Mingo Creek County Park in Finleyville. Learn about the opportunity to bring 100 percent clean, renewable energy to Washington County. A community-led discussion will follow.
