A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at New Hope Church, 22 Cortez Drive, Washington. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. There is no charge for children under 3 years of age. Takeout is available.
A cookie sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the lobby on the 2nd floor at Washington Health System Greene located on Bonar Avenue in Waynesburg. Purchase cookies on this day or place an order to be delivered before Easter. All cookies are homemade. The event is sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary.
Peters Township Parks and Recreation will offer a one-day bus trip to Bedford Springs on Thursday, June 6. The bus will depart from the Community Recreation Center. Cost is $154 per person and registration is due by April 15 at www.peterstownship.com or by calling 724-942-5000.
Peters Township Parks & Recreation will hold Kid’s Rec for ages 6 to 10 from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 16. There is no school on this day; drop the kids off for activities and games at the Community Recreation Center. Bring a water bottle and wear gym shoes. Cost is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. Westmoreland Woodlands Improvement Association’s 30th anniversary gala will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Jim Finley, professor emeritus at the Center for Private Forests at Penn State, will speak on weaving the tapestry of conservation. Dinner will be served and those who have made significant contributions to WWIA over the past three decades will be honored.
