Lions Club names students of month
The Waynesburg Central High School Lions Club students of the month for April are Bailey Fudala and Casey Desrosiers.
Bailey is a daughter of Mark and Vicki Fudala of Waynesburg. She has carried a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school career. At WCHS, she has played on the varsity soccer team, and been a member of NHS, the varsity club, the LEO club and FBLA.
Bailey has worked to make soccer a big part of her life in and out of school. She has earned all-section and all-WPIAL awards through her play on the WCHS soccer team. She has also participated as a member of a club soccer team in Morgantown, and has been a state champion five times. On the weekends Bailey referees youth soccer games.
Outside of school, Bailey spends much of her time volunteering in the community. She has served on mission trips to Chicago and the Dominican Republic. Bailey also gives her time to First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg, where she attends. Through all of her service she has earned a 50-hour “Silver Seal” award. She has done all of this while working a part-time job at Scotty’s Pizza.
Bailey’s plans are to attend Winthrop University, where she will play soccer and study marketing and film production.
Casey is a son of Michael and Danielle Desrosiers of Waynesburg. He has carried a 3.75 GPA into his senior year.
Outside the classroom has stayed very busy at WCHS. He is a member of the track and cross country teams. He served admirably as cross country captain this past season. He has participated with the marching and concert bands. He also has a deep, beautiful voice, which he has lent to the concert choir, show choir, county choir and church choir. He has also been selected to the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District and Honors Choirs.
Casey is also very active in the community. He is a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He serves in the church as a lector and choir member. He also assists in teaching the CCD classes. He is a first-degree Knight of Columbus.
Casey intends to attend Waynesburg University to study history and the arts.
