Monongahela Valley Hospital will recognize Theresa Corbitt with the Rossomme Award for Dimensions in Volunteer Service at Gala 31.

Corbitt began her volunteer service at MVH more than a decade ago in the third year of her breast cancer therapy at the Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center.

She initially volunteered with cancer patients and then became one of the hospital’s first “Ask Me! Greeters,” to provide service throughout the hospital. In 2018, she became one of the first members of MVH’s newly established Patient and Family Advisory Council that was created to enhance the experiences of patients and their families. She is assisting in the development of a program to provide greater comfort and communication to emergency department patients during their stay.

The Rossomme Award was established to honor the memory of Florence S. Rossomme. A dedicated volunteer, Rossomme served in many leadership roles as a member of the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. and one of its predecessor organizations, the Auxiliary of Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, where her volunteer service began in 1943. This award recognizes people who tirelessly give of their time and talents in volunteer service to the health system.
