Peters Township Police Department will sponsor Coffee with a Cop from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at Eat ‘n’ Park, 3380 Washington Road, McMurray. It offers residents a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in Peters Township.
Heritage Public Library, 52 Fourth St., McDonald, will host a Mother’s Day Tea from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11. They will have hot and cold tea, lemonade and cookies, and participants can make a Mother’s Day craft. Fancy hats are recommended. The cost is $5 per person, and the event is open to all ages. Boy Scout Troop 1315 of Washington is sponsoring a blood-screening event from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at SeniorLIFE, next to the Washington Wild Things’ stadium. For $45, participants will get results from 39 blood tests, including cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose, with results sent directly to their doctors. Additional tests such as PSA, thyroid, A1C, rheumatoid arthritis and urinalysis are available. No prescription or appointment needed. A minimum 10-hour fast is required. Claysville Christian Church will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, garlic toast, dessert and beverages. A donation is requested, and takeout is available.
The Washington Corps of the Salvation Army, 60 E. Maiden St., will hold its monthly rummage sale beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 14. The bag sale begins at noon.
