Sipping Through the Centuries fundraiser returns at Nemacolin Castle
The Sipping Through the Centuries fundraiser benefitting the Brownsville Historical Society will return to the historic Nemacolin Castle on Saturday.
Returning for the third year, the event offers guests the chance to taste the creations of different wineries and distilleries in the area, along with other refreshments.
“We’ll have the wineries and have raffles for wine prizes,” said Kim Brashear, a board member of Brownsville Historical Society, which maintains Nemacolin Castle.
The wineries and distilleries that will be featured include Thistlewaite Winery, Christian W. Klay Winery, Greendance Winery, Bella Terra Winery, J&D Derailed Distillery, Ridge Runner Spirits and Country Hammer Moonshiners.
Juliet’s Empanadas food truck, and Rollin’ Stogies Cigars will also be at the event.
“The castle will also be decorated for Christmas, so those attending will get the first glimpse of the decor,” Brashear said.
She said they’re offering something different this year with a raffle ticket that allows the winner to bring nine people to a private, catered Christmas dinner in the Victorian wing of the castle, where every guest will receive a Christmas gift.
Sipping Through the Centuries will be held in two sessions on Saturday, with the first from 4 to 6 p.m. and the second from 7 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased through eventbrite.com.
Those attending must be 21 years or older to enter the castle.
