Ministry fills 600 shoeboxes for children in need
Greater Purpose Team Ministries, which encompasses six United Methodist Churches in the area, recently filled 600 shoeboxes for needy children around the world as part of the Operation Christmas Child program.
Members of the ministry are from churches in Jefferson, Rices Landing, Fredericktown, Denbo, Howe and Roscoe. They have been working with Operation Christmas Child’s Christmas shoeboxes since 2010.
The boxes are filled with a variety of necessities, including school supplies, hygiene items and small toys.
This is the last year the ministry will fill the shoeboxes, and members thanked the many donors and volunteers who have participated over the years.
