Historic Hanna’s Town in Greensburg will showcase “Three Centuries of Christmas in American” this Saturday at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Visitors will learn how American Christmas traditions changed over 300 years during the special tour.

While Christmas is now a time for excitement across the U.S., guests will hear about how it wasn’t always that way. In the 18th century, some honored Dec. 25 at Christmas Day, while others did not. The divide was often determined by the church that individuals attended.

It wasn’t until the 19th century that the Christmas traditions marked by many today started to emerge.

Those who attend one of the tours will also be guided through the 20th century.

Guides for the Saturday event will be costumed as they lead visitors through period-correct decorations and share stories of Christmas past.

Historic Hanna’s Town is located at 809 Forbes Trail Road. For more information, visit westmorelandhistory.org.
