The Washington County Community Foundation announced Friday that a local couple are the first EQT leaseholders to make a contribution to the GIVE Washington County Fund.

The GIVE fund was created at the WCCF in January by EQT, and it’s a resource to help Washington County nonprofits achieve their goals. Landowners are encouraged to contribute by EQT matching up to $10,000 per land lease. Those contributions can be made directly to WCCF or withdrawn from royalty payments.

Kris Drach and Chuck Kreuzer donated $50,000, which was matched by EQT dollar for dollar.

“My husband and I were thrilled to learn about the GIVE Washington County Fund, which allows EQT leaseholders to double their WCCF donation dollars with matching funds provided by EQT. With the WCCF managing the funds, we also know our donation will be used to the greatest possible benefit across our community,” Drach said.

Funds are distributed to nonprofits through an open and competitive grant process. Grantmaking will occur in 2024 and grants will be $2,500 at minimum.

“Kris and Chuck’s philanthropy has supported in a significant manner several worthwhile community organizations over many years. Their recent gift to the GIVE Washington County Fund not only continues their financial support of local community organizations, but it also serves as an example to other EQT landowners to leverage their community giving through the EQT match,” said Betsie Trew, foundation president and CEO.
