Pankopf Ford, pictured Jan. 12, 1966, was the precursor to Washington Ford – and located on the other side of Route 19 in Washington. Pankopf was sold to the Sisson family in 1982 – which is why the area might look familiar to you. John Sisson Motors Merdedes-Benz calls this spot home today. Trinity East Elementary School – then, Windsor Elementary – is in the background.

Hagan Cadillac was located on Murtland Avenue in Washington. This image is dated Oct. 4, 1967. The younger generation may recognize this building as Monro Muffler Brake. Note the radio tower in the background – it’s still there today.

This photo is dated July 2, 1963, in our archives. It shows Van-Ed Motor Sales, which was located right next to the old YWCA building on West Maiden Street in Washington.
