The American Cancer Society’s 23rd Annual Washington Dinner Dance was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh-Southpointe. After the 150 guests bid on silent and Chinese auction items, they heard from this year’s Survivor Speaker, Washington native and University of Pittsburgh freshman Libby Jungo. She spoke about her diagnosis and successful treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Then, DJ Mike Simmons got the crowd moving. The event grossed more than $32,000 – a success for the American Cancer Society and the event’s committee members – some of whom have been involved for more than 20 years.
