A Belle Vernon man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Rostraver Township Monday night.
According to Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco, Camden Ellin, 24, was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m. at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, where he was taken following the crash.
Ellin was one of two motorcyclists involved in a collision with a sport-utility vehicle in the 700 block of Fellsburg Road at about 8:46 p.m.
According to Warco, the accident was witnessed by a state police trooper who made the initial report. State police public information officer Kalee Barnhart clarified that the trooper was not involved in the accident.
Though the accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Belle Vernon barracks, the crash investigation is being handled by state police in Uniontown.
“Our command staff required that Uniontown take over the investigation,” Barnhart said.
According to state police, Joshua Sethman, 25, of Webster, was operating the other motorcycle. Sethman was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with a serious injury, police said.
Neither Sethman nor Ellin was wearing their helmet properly, according to police.
Operating the SUV was 18-year-old Gracie Lynch, of Rostraver, who was transported to Jefferson Hospital with a minor injury.
State police offered few details about how the crash occurred in the written report. It was not clear by Tuesday’s deadline if either Sethman or Lynch would be charged as a result of the crash.
