A fire displaced a Houston family Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to 226 E. Grant St. at 9:48 a.m., according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

Crews arrived on scene to find the house in flames. Richard Burgess, one of the homeowners, was at work when he received a call from his daughter about the fire.

Burgess said there were six people in the house.

“Everybody made it out safely. There were no injuries,” Burgess said.

According to Burgess, the American Red Cross was called to provide assistance. He said the house was destroyed.

The family has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help recover from the fire.

According to 911, fire departments from Houston, Chartiers Township, Canonsburg, North Strabane Township and Peters Township responded to the scene. The fire marshal is investigating.
