Two people from Waynesburg died Tuesday following a two-vehicle, head-on collision in Franklin Township.
The Greene County coroner’s office identified one of the victims as 76-year-old Linda Phillips. State police said Denny Phillips, 70, also died from injuries suffered in the crash.
According to police, the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the 200 block of Route 19. Linda and Denny Phillips were passengers in a Ford F-150 that was traveling south when it crossed the double yellow line and struck a northbound sport-utility vehicle head-on.
Police identified the driver of the pickup truck as Stacey Elaine Lewis, 52, of Waynesburg, who was injured. It was not immediately known if she would be facing charges.
Angela Louise Miltz, 56, of Graysville, was the sole occupant of the northbound SUV and also was injured.
Police said Linda Phillips was declared dead at the scene. Denny Phillips was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., where he later died.
State police continue to investigate.
