Peters Township Public Library will host local band NTLB (No Tune Left Behind) for a one-hour concert at 6:30 p.m. today. The concert is part of an anti-bullying program. Members of the Peters Township Police Department will be in attendance, and Chief Harry Fruecht will kick off the event by reading an anti-bullying pledge. Students will be able to take the pledge to stop bullying, and sign a large banner with the same message.

“Kids today are under enough pressure from peers, parents and the world we live in, they don’t need added stress of being picked on by others for whatever reason. There’s just no need for it,” Fruecht said.

Members of NTLB are all professional musicians and educators in the Peters Township School District. Lead guitarist and singer Ray Cygrymus is a music teacher. Keyboardist, bassist and singer David Difilippo also teaches music in the district. Guitarist and singer John Lovett teaches fourth grade at McMurray Elementary and drummer and singer Stephen McGough also teaches music.

The band is no stranger to the anti-bullying message – they’ve played at the 2008 Character Education Partnership National Forum in Washington, D.C., and have been invited to perform and present at the National Conference on Girl Bullying. They will play their You Tube popular hit “Bully on the Bus,” as well as other upbeat songs.

The free event takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the library. For additional information, call 724-941-9430.
