Woman escapes fire that destroyed Amwell Township home

Fire destroyed a two-story, single-family home at 714 Banetown Road, Amity, shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

A resident of the house, Linda Toland, was home at the time and managed to escape the blaze unharmed.

Crews arrived at thehome shortly after 5:30 p.m. Firefighters from Amwell Township, Lone Pine, South Strabane, North Franklin, South Franklin and Morris townships responded.

There were no injuries reported in the fire, but the house appeared to be a total loss. Firefighters have not determined the cause of the blaze.
