State Senator-elect Matt Smith, D-Allegheny/Washington, announced Friday that residents will continue to receive assistance with state-related issues at his Mt. Lebanon district office.

Smith has resigned from the House of Representatives and has begun duties as Senator of the 37th Senatorial District, which includes Peters Township in Washington County and several South Hills communities in Allegheny County.

Smith will have a satellite office in the Peters Township Municipal Building, 610 East McMurray Road. The office will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The phone number is 724-942-7210.

Smith’s district office will remain at 319 Castle Shannon Blvd. The phone number is 412-571-2169 and the toll free number is 866-736-7477. Smith hopes to open an additional district office in Moon Township.

The date of a special election to choose Smith’s successor in the House of Representatives is subject to the discretion of the Speaker of the House and should be announced soon.
