One-vehicle crash: A Washington teen was unscathed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday night in Amwell Township. According to state police, the 17-year-old fell asleep while driving south on Lone Pine Road near Potato Run Road in Amwell Township at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, causing his vehicle to travel down a steep embankment. Police said the vehicle struck a tree stump and a large pile of concrete debris before coming to rest on the edge of a cornfield. The boy was not injured, police said. Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance and Chair assisted at the scene.
Crash injures one: A Louisiana man was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital following a one-vehicle crash Saturday in Donegal Township. According to state police, Kwalan D. Rubin, 30, of Rayne, La., was traveling south on Route 231 in Donegal at 11:50 a.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing his vehicle to strike an embankment. He was transported to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh. Police said Rubin will be charged for driving too fast for conditions. Claysville Volunteer Fire Department and Washington Ambulance and Chair assisted at the scene.
Burglary reported: Melanie Kay Slogick of 130 Lanik Road, Somerset Township, reported to state police that her residence had been burglarized between 10 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday. Police said $200 cash, a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol and about $2,900 in jewelry were reported stolen.
